Welcome back, comic fans,
We’re back again this week with two outstanding graded books to celebrate our upcoming Spring 2019 Comic Book Show & Sale on Saturday, May 18th. If you’re in the area and able to attend, something exciting is sure to catch your eye — and bring the family!
Our first offering is a great copy of Fantastic Four #25, highlighting the second Silver Age appearance of Captain America, an overall Avengers group appearance, and an epic battle between the Thing and the Incredible Hulk. Also available is a solid example of Tales to Astonish #57, starring Giant-Man and the Wasp, with an early appearance by Spider-Man (sans costume emblem on the cover, how strange!), in addition to an Egghead appearance. What collection is complete without these?
These 10-day auctions run from May 8th to May 18th:
|Fantastic Four #25
CGC Universal Grade in 6.0 condition with off-white to white pages.
This epic book contains an Incredible Hulk vs. Thing battle, an Avengers appearance, and the 2nd Silver Age appearance of Captain America. A must-have book to help complete your collection, this issue features a story by the late, great Stan Lee, with a classic cover and wonderful art by Jack Kirby and George Roussos.
|Tales to Astonish #57
CGC Universal Grade in 6.5 condition with off-white to white pages.
From an original owner collection, this issue features an early Spider-Man appearance, an Egghead appearance, and an oddity — the spider emblem is missing from Spider-Man’s costume on the cover. The stories are written by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber, cover art is by Jack Kirby and Chic Stone, and story artwork is by Lieber, Stone, Dick Ayers, and Paul Reinman.
Don’t forget that these auctions are ending Saturday, May 11th:
CGC Universal Grade in 5.5 condition with cream to off-white pages.
From an original owner collection, this early Marvel issue features the second appearances of Daredevil and Electro, along with an appearance from the Fantastic Four. The one and only Stan Lee provides the story, with artwork by Joe Orlando and Vince Colletta and a spectacular cover by Colletta and Jack Kirby.
CGC Universal Grade in 8.0 condition with off-white pages.
Another great addition to your collection is this Marvel Silver Age issue. In addition to a Kang appearance and pin-up, Spider-Man makes an early guest-star appearance in a fantastic story by Stan Lee, with artwork by Don Heck and Chic Stone, and cover by Stone and Jack Kirby.
Good luck, all!
