As an extra surprise in the run-up to our Fall 2016 Comic Book Show & Sale this Saturday, October 22nd, we have a thrilling auction for you today — an absolutely iconic early Golden Age comic, Superman #2! This exciting issue from 1939 is a difficult-to-find wonder, entirely intact with only a small amount of conservation done (to preserve the integrity of a comic of this age). No collection is complete without this amazing piece of comic book history.
This 10-day auction runs from October 20th to October 30th:
CGC Certified Apparent C-1 Slight Restoration Grade in 3.0 condition, with cream to off-white pages.
A hard-to-find, (there seems to be less of this issue on the market than Superman #1) rare gem for your collection, this is a nice, completely intact copy of this early Golden Age super-hero comic book, featuring a full page ad for the 1939 New York World’s Fair Comics. The “restoration” is a small amount of glue on the cover, as well as an extra staple added after manufacturing by the original owner, that CGC actually deems “conservation”. This vintage 10 cent issue was written by Jerry Siegel, with artwork and cover by Joe Shuster & Paul Cassidy.
Best of luck!
